Reflection

10 things i learnt/thought were important were;

1. if there is a tornado and a lot of houses and a tipi around, its very likely that the tipi will stay standing if its right beside the house.
2. They use math for putting up any special ceremonies
3. Tipis are very strong
4. They believe the creator created all things
5. They have traditional songs
6. They bead a lot
7. They have powwows
8. You have to respect and culture
9. They have such things as a head elder and a regular elder
10. The head elders do different things such as ceremonies

- we discuss math in relation to first nations because when you're doing math you get to realize more their culture.

Math choices

5 things that i learned from the presentation is :
1) knowing what math class to take next year
2) it is hard to pick because it will mostly likely affect what you want to be when you're older.
3) its hard to choose
4) will help me become smart

Im not very good at math but ive always wanted to be a nurse

Math groups

The other day, we were in groups and they helped me a lot with learning everything. Although the videos did help the most. They were all good but some very hard to solve. The dice one was difficult but was very challenging. My favourite one was the first one because it was easy and i got it way better then the rest.
I mostly enjoyed my group the most. They help me way more then other groups did in elementary school and i get along with them. Unlike other groups i had in elementary, i didn't get along with them which made it even more hard to work because all they would do it fool around and would never do their work.

Mathletics

Mathletics is a good help with math because if you get something wrong. It shows you what you did wrong and it fixes it. It also helps me add, subtract , multiply and divide way faster. I used to suck at doing them fast but now im way better which is really good. It also helped me because you can pick more challenging things and usually some apps are way to easy.

2 things that i like about this app is how challenging it is and you get to face people all over the world. Its better then always facing people in your class..

And one way i would improve this app is that i would add way more categories. Some you have to download and it takes along time.. So i would make it download it way faster because when we are sitting here working, we cant wait along time for it.
Mathletics is a good app and i enjoy using it. Just not for along time.

Article

yes, i agree to this article because everything he says is true. Im defiantly not the neatest writer and i always knew to use pencil in math. This article was only alittle helpful because some stuff i already knew so it didnt really matter. Using pen in math would suck if you made a mistake , i was always taught to use pencil so you can erase it. But this is a really good article to read because it shows you what kids struggle with and how to improve it.

Fractions

We have been learning about fractions for a while now and we use them everyday. For example we need them if your baking because you have to put the right amount of something in and if you put too much it probably wont taste the same. There are fractions all over. To build houses, cut pizza's, and all other things . So its really important that you learn and remember how to do them. Most people use fractions everyday so thats why you should know them.

What i understand about fractions is that you have to use them everyday so when i always complain that i have to do them, i try to remember that they will help me when i get older and so,e jobs i pick will use them. But what i don't understand is that sometimes how you do them. I just forget but once i get shown again. Then i remember easily.

Marks

Our marks are on a website called home logic. Since marks are very important , you should always remember to do your work and try your best to get good marks. The teachers use a item called weighted percent, they use it to "weigh" things heavier than others. Items out of 100 are going to be weighted then something out of 5. Obviously, bigger projects will get way more marks then a little quiz would because the big project would have more marks..because you worked harder on them.
